Hello! This is a portfolio made to demonstrate a wide variety of photography that I do. While I do hold a B.S. in Graphic Design (yes, B.S. - I can make websites too, go me!) I actually taught myself the art of photography and the editing/manipulation that I do. This portfolio should demonstrate both my photography and editing abilities.   

If you know anything about me at all, it's that I LOVE to photograph Ballet - but it's not all that I photograph! I'm a highly accomplished photographer in that I can photograph with a demonstration of exceptional skill and execution using a variety of mediums in a variety of settings. I photograph mostly in natural light settings - outdoor photoshoots, weddings, portraits, etc. I also excel photographing in extremely challenging locations - like photographing a Ballet production in a dark theater from the corner of the stage. I'm also exceptionally skilled at strobe photography (aka "Strobist") where I can photograph in challenging lighting situations using a variety of different lighting methods. From high speed sync'd strobes to bouncing flash guns off of church ceilings. If you see dancers with the setting sun behind them it was done doing this, or a well lit wedding reception, or outdoor headshots. Another thing I bring to the table is being able to bring about entire studio productions - I have the equipment and ability needed to photograph studio productions that I mostly use to photograph dancers for portraits as well as marketing productions.

Over all I consider myself a portrait photographer in general, simply because photographing Human subjects is what drives my passion in photography. Other areas where I have experience both commercially and personally is landscape, architectural, product and street photography. Most of my work is some form of candid "journalistic" photography - weddings and the like, where I'm more blended into the crowd and photographing things as they happen. 

The bottom portion of this portfolio will include a few samples of my design work, mostly done for Ballet academies and companies. Other places where my photos have been published include Better Home and Garden, Portland Street of Dreams, Willamette Weekly, The Oregonian, Sellwood Family Magazine, advertisements all over. If you've seen dance advertisements around Portland it's entirely possible you've seen my work.

A few Ballet companies and academies I work with regularly: Classical Ballet Academy, Sultanov Russian Ballet, PDX Contemporary Ballet, Maple Leaf Russian Ballet.

A few charity and non-profit organizations I've worked with: Make a Wish Oregon, Fighting Pretty, Friends of the Columbia Gorge, Save the Animals.
